The 'flaming Moe'

Just like us, the people of Appela were not very advanced, but were listening to the skys for alien signals, their dream came true when they found signals a couple of hundren years ago, they learnt of a planet called Earth. They played the signals over there own networks, and soon people were fasinated with our TV programs and episodes. They made no further efforts to advance and if so only to get a better signal.
One day the sky filled with fire and liquid rock, hell became unleached. The people that survived underground or in caves, named the giant rock, the 'flamming moe' which they got from a popular Tv show from the planet they once listened to!
